Vintage Clothing Goodness

We saw The Great Gatsby this past weekend from Baz Luhrmann and man did we get in a tizzy over the costume designs.  It’s become very obvious that we were born in the wrong decade. Luckily our friends from Shabby Apple are here to help us out with some great vintage clothing options. Shabby Apple has some darling dresses that would be perfect for a garden party engagement party or maybe even a swankier peplum dress for an evening wedding. Most of their sizes fit from a zero up to a 16. So there’s something for all shapes and sizes. Most of their items have reviews so you’ll exactly how it fits your body shape. Still not sure? They’ve made it even easier to order for your silhoutte by using their Fit to Flatter style guide. Three easy questions and BOOM you have tons of styles just for your body style.

Make sure to check some of the other items Shabby Apple carries. They have vintage swimwear and wedding inspired jewelry (including a super sweet Mrs. sterling silver necklace). We can’t wait to try out a couple of their high waisted skirts at our upcoming weddings.

Let us know which vintage clothing style you like best from Shabby Apple!

Vegas wedding at the Neon Boneyard

This adorable Ohio couple tied the knot Vegas style in an intimate destination wedding with seven family members. Jamie of JamieY Photography snagged amazing pre-wedding photos at the Neon Boneyard Museum. Although the temperature spiked over 100 degrees, bride Terrie looked cool and trendy in her knee-length gown and red converse sneakers. Groom Joseph was equally stylish with the groomsmen, who all wore Chuck Taylor converse sneakers and hats. Even Terrie’s father rocked the look. The couple exchanged vows on the balcony of their Terrace Suite at The Cosmopolitan, overlooking the strip and Bellagio fountains. After the ceremony the wedding party enjoyed cake pops in Las Vegas shot glasses, then changed into custom T-Shirts for a night on the town.

Turquoise blue and cherry red wedding

We LOVE fun and unexpected color combinations. For their wedding, Anna and Michael paired cool shades of turquoise blue with vibrant cherry red. The couple had an intimate outdoor ceremony in Jackson, Mississippi, surrounded by a circle of their family and friends. Anna looked elegantly vintage in her tea-length Lazaro gown, birdcage veil, and brooch bouquet. The couple’s reception space was decked with brilliant red flowers, blue birdcages, lots of red candy, and strawberry flavored Jones soda customized with the couple’s photograph. The groom’s cake  sported a whimsical Pokemon cake topper, and adorable bird toppers adorned the wedding cake. Each sweet moment of this wedding was captured by Adam + Alli Photography.

Romantic and timeless engagement shoot

Nicole Modde of NC Photography captured this gorgeous e-session in the sunny fields of Alberta, Canada.  We love the vintage details and the couple’s beautiful chemistry together.

Glamorous Country Wedding

I often ask myself…..what makes a good wedding photographer?? Is it how many weddings they have shot? Is it how many years they have been in business?  Is it how cool their logo is???  While yes experience is important for me what makes a good wedding photographer is their ability to make me feel something and stop me in my tracks and say HOLY SHIT that is an amazing picture!  I have been stalking Courtney’s blog for a few months now and I am honored to have her for the first time on the Hot Pink Brides Blog.  I must tell you when I saw this wedding I did stop and say out loud HOLY SHIT!  Enjoy and Happy Friday!
