Traditional wedding with European flair

Natalia and Michal’s Illinois wedding perfectly blended cultural traditions with modern elegance. The amazing Yaneck of WASIO Photography gave us a behind-the-scenes peek at the the sweet “first look” the couple shared before the wedding:

“He was standing at the end of the staircase with his back turned away from the stairs. His heart was beating fast and he had a big smile on his face. She was walking down the stairs anxious to see her soon-to-be husband. She gets to the bottom of the stairs and he anxiously turns around before she can tap him on the shoulder. Awed by his gorgeous soon-to-be wife, they share their first kiss of the day.”

An elegant Rolls Royce whisked the couple away to their ceremony. Throughout the wedding day, a highlander band followed the couple performing traditional folk music. Guests took shots of homemade pear and plum vodka before they could enter the reception, and enjoyed bottles of vodka and champagne as favors at each table.  The guests also indulged in a sausage bar and wide array of desserts. Sounds like our kind of party!

Elegant rooftop wedding

For their July wedding, Krista and Pablo exchanged vows in an elegant outdoor ceremony on the rooftop of The Plaza Hotel in downtown Orlando, Florida. Photographer Jessica of Jesse Giles Photography said the last-minute venue change was the perfect choice for these “lovebirds.”

“It was amazing, with such beautiful city views and perfect blue skies,” Jessica said. “The interior had such a cool modern feel. I would definitely recommend this venue.”

Outdoor summer wedding shoot

THIS is what true love looks like! The sweet pre-wedding shoot was taken by Radelle of Eternal Reflections Photography in Entwistle, Alberta, Canada at the gorgeous Pembina River Provincial Park. The photo session was conducted the week before Allison and Stephen tied the knot in July. Radelle said that she was booked the day of the couple’s wedding, but agreed to the pre-wedding shoot as a gift for the bride, who lost her mother just over a year ago in a tragic accident.

“Having been married with a parent who had passed away as well, I really wanted to help make her day extra special,” said Radelle.

We love the gorgeous, carefree backdrop of the park, and especially the rich red, purple, and yellow florals in the bride’s unique bouquet. This couple has us dreaming of summer again!

Elegant lakeside wedding

Although Brock and Marina tied the knot early last August, their guests are still raving about the couple’s luxurious lakeside wedding, captured by New York-based photographer Anne-Claire Brun.  The wedding took place at the Sagamore Resort on Lake George in New York, an easy venue choice for this sweet couple.

“Lake George has always been a very special place for Brock and me,” said bride Marina. “Our families vacationed in the area for years. It’s also where we spent our first Valentine’s Day, and where Brock asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. The Sagamore Resort, with its breathtaking views of Lake George and the surrounding mountains, was the ideal location for celebrating our big day. The resort’s old-world style highlighted the ‘classic-elegant’ theme of our wedding.”

This feeling of luxurious elegance permeated the reception and ceremony, all the way down to the guests’ transportation.

“Our guests arrived at the Sagamore on a classic wooden yacht and enjoyed the magnificent views and lake breezes at our outdoor ceremony, followed by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the gorgeous grounds,” the bride said.

Pretty in plaid

We’re mad for plaid this Wednesday.  We mixed and matched pastel plaids to make this wedding soft and ultra-feminine.  Plaids are a great way to subtly blend your wedding colors, like in the groom’s tie or with plaid ribbons on your bouquet.

Tangerine and green wedding inspiration

Bold color combinations look luscious and chic for a summer wedding.  We used bright shades of tangerine as the base color for this inspiration board, then added touches of lime green.  Include bright details like bouquets of peach roses, orange chrysanthemums, and clusters of citrus fruit.  Serve pitchers of lemonade with orange slices, citrus margaritas, and key lime pie for dessert.  Gorgeous colors for the perfect summertime romance.
